Eliot Lipp - Rap Tight

Fela Kuti & The Africa 70 - Fela with Ginger Baker Live!

click here to downloadFile:Fela Kuti Live.jpg

Live! is a re-issued album recorded in 1971 and 1978 by Fela Kuti's band, Africa 70, with the addition of former Cream drummer Ginger Baker.
Baker with Kuti travelled into Africa in a Land Rover to learn about the continent's rhythms. The fifth and last song features a 16-minute drum duet between Baker and Africa 70's drummer Tony Allen recorded at the 1978 Berlin Jazz Festival.
The psychedelic hybrid of genres that is afro-beat is something to lose yourself in. The length of the tracks in conductive to this mood and I'm sure Kuti would've recommended enhancement via mind altering substances to those inclined (if you've never read Fela's story you're really missing out on some wild shit).

  2. "Black Man's Cry" - 12:12
  3. "Ye Ye De Smell" - 13:55
  4. "Egbe Mi O (Carry Me I Want To Die)" - 12:37

Tipper - Broken Soul Jamboree

If you don't know who Tipper is, you don't know what perfectionists sound like and then you have no standard for that kinda thing, so start now here with Tipper's newest release which if you didn't know he was human you'ld think this is some alien interpretation of ethnic and dance music, some your latest DMT experience.... or maybe not. But anyway Broken Soul Jamboree is a nice collection and molding of Tipper's downtempo and super out there break beat bass heavy style of music. This guys a master of production and here is a great examples.

In a clearing surrounded by mountains a distinctive sound rings out. This sound is the imaginative echo of the Asheville electronic music scene. It’s a sound that has been growing rapidly within this mountain community, where an ever-growing artist population constantly pushes the variety of musical production through the envelope.
The idea for an Asheville Beat Tape came from Nigel One, a long-time DJ and producer who has been involved in Asheville’s electronic music scene since the early 2000′s. Soon after joining forces with Skew Records, Nigel decided to spearhead the idea of bringing some of the surrounding talent together to form an Asheville Beat Tape. After a month’s time, Nigel had collected a multitude of tracks from area producers, and brought on Skew producers Peripheral and DM Stair to help artfully and seamlessly arrange the tracks into order. The result is a 45-minute mix of inspiring production and composition styles.
The Beat Tape consists of a variety of artists such as Two Fresh, Moving Temple, Mother Hood of RBTS WIN, Peripheral, DJ Bowie, DM Stair, and Mingle of Paper Tiger, all performers at Moogfest this past Halloween weekend. Other producers include Nigel One, Marley Carroll of Melanaster Records, Bookworm and Jables from Labcoat, SYS-HEX, d:Raf, KimathiM, Wuchinow, and ProFlogik of Skew Records.
Nigel One and the collective of area producers have started accepting entries for Volume 2, which will include other artists that did not appear on Volume 1. Stay tuned this winter for more information on mix tape and individual artist releases from Skew Records.

PANTyRAiD : Audio Fondling Your Girlfriend

Taken from The Windish Agency...

PANTyRAiD is the product of two music producers that met on the West Coast of the United States and share the same appreciation for well produced electronic dance music. Martin Folb (aka MartyParty) and Josh Mayer (aka Ooah) have always loved the art of songwriting instead of the typical club track production.
They set off to write melodic, musical journeys within the electronic genre. Each song has its own character, its own intention, and often crosses over many genres of electronic and traditional music. One thing is consistent in all PANTyRAiD production, attention to detail, not found in typical electronic production. Constant variation in the beat, and an almost overwhelming palette of instrumentation and audio tricks and techniques.
The combination of MartyParty and Ooah has started a movement back towards the power of the melody and instrumental composition. Together they have invented a formula for producing intense club songs that pull together gorgeous and modern electronic sounds with hard hitting beats, bringing the best of hip-hop, dubstep and other forms of experimental electronic music.
The music is a new flavor of urban beat, a fresh new sexy sound that draws those that love to dance.

Beacon
Our session beer, this is a fairly hoppy
yet well balanced pale ale

Ozzy
Our answer to the Belgian «devil» beers (i.e.
Lucifer, Duvel, etc.). Both rich and dry, this beer is
all too easy to consume in large quantities.
Hopped with Styrian Goldings.

Resurrection
During the fermentation of the first batch of this
Abbey-style ale, the yeast «died» and was
«resurrected» by brewer Chris Cashell. Made
with five types of barley malt and lots of
sugar, this beer is quite flavorful,
without being too sweet.
