YOU SHOULD BE LISTENING TO: THE VERY BEST

The Very Best formed because of an exchange over a bicycle. Once upon a time, the group was a trio consisting of Malawian singer Esau Mwamwaya and the London-based producer duo Radioclit. It has since been reduced to two as one of the Radioclit members jumped ship. The electronic pop group has released three records. Their latest as a duo, Super Mom, was released this past Mother’s Day.

This mixtape asserts an energizing balance between joyful tribal feels and modern-based electronics. The duo gets some ridiculous help from guests Kanye West, Billy Idol, Cee-Lo, LCD Soundsystem, Kate Bush, Rusko, and African Boy, to name a few. Super Mom is intended to be a “celebration of Africa” and a “celebration of every mother in the world.”
